Jason Residence – Houston, Texas. Tucked away in a classic mid century Houston neighborhood, the challenge of this design was to accommodate two large trees on site. The forms created are a derivative of that challenge, and create a powerful architectural gesture. A wood clad volume cantilevers over the front while intersecting the main programmatic volume of the home. The residual space in the backyard creates a tranquil and shaded courtyard complete with a layered deck and pool. Generous glazing allows for maximum natural light and views into the courtyard on the house’s west facade.
